How to Clean a Patio for a Complete Transformation
Proper cleaning can do wonders for a patio, but how can you do it? This guide explains how to clean a patio for a complete transformation.

Nothing ruins a morning cup of coffee like the sight of mold and dirt.
Your morning routine consists of spending some time alone on your patio to clear your mind and sip some caffeine. Unfortunately, you've noticed the growing amount of dirt and grime in the last few days.
It's time to give your patio a good cleaning, but you aren't sure how to do that. Luckily for you, we're here with all the information you need.
Below is a guide on how to clean a patio. Make sure to keep reading so you can once again enjoy your morning breakfast in peace.
Clear the Floor
The first step to patio cleaning is clearing the patio and floor. Clear all the furniture from the area. You might want to use your garage or driveway to keep it out of the way for a bit.
Once the furniture is cleared, break out the brooms. Sweep away all of the dirt and crumbs on your porch. Clean up major cobwebs or pet hair clumps you notice.
If you notice any weeds growing on your patio, remove them now.
Make Your Cleaner
To clean a cement or concrete patio, gather a bucket, baking soda, and white vinegar.
Add one cup of baking soda to the bucket, and then pour in 2 cups of your white vinegar. Enjoy the mini science experiment as you very slowly stir the ingredients with a large spoon or paint mixing stick. The consistency should be that of a thick soup.
Spread and Scrub
Grab a mop sponge, and spread the cleaner across the patio floor. You might have to make a few batches of the cleaner, depending on how large your patio is.
Once it's covering the entirety of the patio floor, allow the cleaner to sit for about half an hour. Come back to the patio with a scrub brush with nylon bristles once the time is up.
After you think you've scrubbed enough, use water to wash away the cleaner. You can either dump freshwater onto the patio or use a hose to spray it away.
If That Doesn't Work
If the above patio cleaning method doesn't work, you may want to either contact the professionals or use a pressure washer to clean the grout.
A pressure washer will be able to blast away any stubborn spots. To help even more, look into professional-grade cleaners to use on the floor before spraying it away.
If that doesn't work, it's time to bring in the pros.
